Who is starting tonight for the Yankees?
RHP Luis Severino (3.50 ERA/2.00 FIP, 1.17 WHIP in 18.0 innings over three starts), who suffered his first loss of the season against Boston in his last outing. He allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out six and walking three over five innings.
Manager Aaron Boone noted that Severino may have been tipping his pitches, but Severino wasn't sure until he saw the video.
"I don't know if I was tipping or if they saw something, but the game is not the time to be working on it," he said. "I need to see video to see what's going on, if there is anything going on."
The Yankees will see if he figures it out tonight.
Who is starting tonight for the Marlins?
LHP Caleb Smith (4.73 ERA/ FIP, 1.58 WHIP in six innings over one starts), who earned a no-decision in his last start against the Mets. He allowed three runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking one over five innings.
Smith likes pitching at home so far this season, but his one road start didn't go so well. He only lasted three innings after walking six over that span.
Smith was sent to the Marlins this past offseason as part of the Giancarlo Stanton trade.
