Jordan Montgomery (2-0, 3.76 ERA), who has tossed at least five innings in three consecutive outings. He limited the Twins to two runs in five innings of work his last time out. He has allowed more than three runs on only one occasion this season. Montgomery threw a season-high 98 pitches on April 26 after previously topping out at 91 pitches his last two times out.

Justin Verlander (4-0, 1.36 ERA), has pitched very effectively in the early portion of the season and allowed just two runs in seven innings against the Angels his last time out. Verlander is tied for the most wins in the AL with four and has tallied 48 strikeouts, which is good for second in the AL.
