The Yankees are about to get one of their walking wounded back.
Catcher Gary Sanchez, who has been out due to a calf strain, made it through Monday's rehab game fine and is expected to be activated from the IL and back in the lineup on Wednesday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Sanchez went 0-for-3 in a rehab game with Low-A Charleston on Monday.
Playing in a game for the first time since April 12, Sanchez caught five innings, giving up two passed balls, before being removed from the game.
He popped out to short in his first at-bat, grounded out to second in the third inning and grounded out to short in the fifth inning against the Kannapolis Intimidators.
Prior to going on the IL, Sanchez had a .368/.333/.742 batting line with six home runs and 11 RBIs.
