The length of Giancarlo Stanton's absence from the Yankees' lineup became clearer Tuesday.
According to Jon Heyman, the Yankees hope Stanton will be back in three weeks. The team placed him on the 10-day injured list Monday with a Grade 1 left biceps strain.
Stanton suffered the injury Sunday against the Orioles during his third at-bat of the rain-delayed game, he said.
Yankees are hopeful Stanton can be back in 3 weeks. Andujar status is iffier. Could go either way for 2019. Good thing they signed LeMahieu. Looks like brilliant move now.

With the slugger scheduled to return toward the end of April, it provides the Yankees' suddenly depleted outfield with some good news. Center fielder Aaron Hicks has been dealing with a balky back that caused him to begin the season on the injured list and his timetable for a return is murkier.
Miguel Andujar, who the Yankees also placed on the injured list Monday, does not have an anticipated return date yet, per Heyman. The 24-year-old may require surgery that could cost him the entire season. He suffered his injury -- a partially torn right labrum -- on Sunday as well.
The injury bug has bitten the Yankees hard to start the season. In addition to Hicks, Andujar and Stanton, the team began the year with pitchers CC Sabathia, Dellin Betances and Luis Severino on the injured list.
