Who is starting for the Yankees?
RHP Masahiro Tanaka (4.79 ERA/1.25 WHIP), who had an awful start against the Red Sox last time out. He allowed a season-high 12 runs on 12 hits (two homers) over 3.1 innings.
Tanaka said that he made a "drastic" change to the grip of his splitter, so we'll see if that has any effect today.
Who is starting for the D-backs?
RHP Zack Greinke (2.87 ERA/0.94), who was a name on the trade block, but it looks like he's staying in Arizona if he's out here on the mound today. He had a solid start against the Marlins last time out, allowing just on run on four hits over six innings of work.
The Yankees will get an off day tomorrow as they prepare for some payback against the Red Sox, who come to the Bronx on Friday for a weekend series.
