The Yankees have announced DH Matt Holliday will activated off the 10-day DL and be available to play this weekend.
Holliday has been out with a back injury since August 4. He has played in three rehab games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he went 2-for-10 with three runs scored.
The 37-year-old owns a .229 batting average with 16 home runs and 51 RBI in 88 games this season.
The Yankees also recalled RHP Ben Heller, RHP Bryan Mitchell, and LHP Jordan Montgomery.
Montgomery, who was recently called up to pitch during the Yankee's doubleheader against the Indians, has 24 starts in the bigs this season. He leads all AL rookie pitchers with 123 strikeouts on the season. Montgomery owns a 4.15 ERA as well.
Heller has made only two relief apperances with the Yankees this season where he has yet to give up a run. In Triple-A, he has a 2.88 ERA with six saves and 82 strikeouts.
Mitchell has appeared in 16 games with the Yankees this season. He owns a 1-1 record with a 4.67 ERA in that span.
Veteran C Erik Kratz was acquired by the Yankees from the Indians in exchange for cash considerations. The Yankees selected him to the 40-man roster.
His last stint in the major leagues was with the Pirates in 2016 for 18 games. He has played for five different teams in his seven-year career.
With Triple-A Columbus this season, he is hitting .270 with 13 homers and 37 RBI in 86 games. He owns a .200 MLB batting average for his career.
RHP Luis Cessa was transferred to the 60-day DL as he continues to nurse a ribcage injury. He has a 4.75 ERA this season in 36 innings, which includes five starts.
