The Yankees traded Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre C Erik Kratz to the Brewers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Friday.
The 37-year-old Kratz appeared in four games for the Yankees last season.
In another move, Triple-A 1B/OF Adam Lind, who was in his second stint this season in the Yankees organization, was released from Triple-A.
Lind, 34, was a bit redundant due to the presence of Tyler Austin, Greg Bird, and Neil Walker, with Austin perhaps bound for Triple-A once Bird is activated from the DL.
The Yankees also acquired minor league C Wilkin Castillo from the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League and assigned him to Triple-A.
