The New York Yankees will open the second half with a four-game road series against the Boston Red Sox by having Jordan Montgomery pitch on Friday and Luis Severino on Saturday.
For Sunday's doubleheader, Bryan Mitchell will pitch Game 1 and Masahiro Tanaka will pitch Game 2.
The Red Sox will send Drew Pomeranz to the mound on Friday, Chris Sale on Saturday, Rick Porcello on Sunday afternoon and David Price on Sunday night.
Montgomery, who is 7-6 with a 3.65 ERA, has not faced the Red Sox this season. He is winless in his last two outings, giving up five runs and 12 hits in 9 2/3 innings.
Severino is 5-4 with a 3.54 ERA, coming off 10-strikeout performance against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 8. He threw seven scoreless innings against the Red Sox on April 26.
Mitchell has only pitched out of the bullpen in the majors this season, last pitching on June 30. In nine starts with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, he is 2-2 with a 4.37 ERA.
Tanaka is 7-8 with a 5.47 ERA and has faced the Red Sox twice this season. He threw a three-hit shutout at Fenway Park on April 27 and recorded a loss on June 6 when he gave up five runs and five hits in five innings.
