While Lance Lynn adds depth to the Yankees' rotation, something not lost on them before they acquired him from the Twins on Monday is his success against the Red Sox.

Lynn, whom the Yankees acquired for Tyler Austin and Luis Rijo, is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA in five career starts against the division-leading Red Sox.

Though it's unclear if the Yankees will adjust their rotation for this weekend's four-game series at Fenway Park, Lynn did just face the Red Sox on Friday, giving up two runs and six hits in six innings in a no-decision.

When he faced them on June 20, he allowed one unearned run and three hits in five innings.

Despite his success against Boston, he is just 7-8 with a 5.10 ERA in 20 total starts this season. But that does include five scoreless innings against the Astros on April 9 and six innings of one-run ball against the Indians on June 2.
