Before their season-ending 4-3 loss to the Red Sox Tuesday night in Game 4 of the ALDS, the Yankees put out a call on Twitter for the 'Avengers,' saying it was 'all on the line.'
Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who has been voyaging around Europe -- where he became a Viking -- had a response to the Yankees on Wednesday morning.
Sorry I missed your call. Getting spotty cell service.https://t.co/oAzXPV2WGg- Noah Syndergaard (@Noahsyndergaard) October 10, 2018
The Yankees had interest in trading for Syndergaard (and his teammate Jacob deGrom) before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.
With Syndergaard and deGrom carrying too hefty a price tag for the Yankees, they instead traded for J.A. Happ and Lance Lynn.
