The market for relievers is beginning to move, and the Yankees appear poised to make a move.
Earlier on Thursday, agents began to say that they were getting close to accepting deals, even if the offers were for shorter terms than expected.
In the afternoon, David Robertson signed with the Phillies.
The Phillies and Yanks have been talking to Zach Britton, according to major league sources, and now the Phils are likely out on Britton. Britton's original ask was believed to be for a four-year deal; perhaps he and the Yankees can compromise on a three-year contract.
The Yanks have also shown interest in Adam Ottavino.
