Aaron Judge is known for his bat, but he has been just as big for the Yankees in the field.
And on Wednesday, he received recognition from Major League Baseball for his efforts.
MLB announced the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Awards with New York's star right fielder among the nine players honored.
A first-time winner, Judge saved 19 defensive runs, tied for the most by a right fielder on the 2019 season.
His numbers in the category came despite the fact that he only played in 102 games, missing 60 regular-season contests due to injury.
At the plate, Judge slashed .272/.381/.540 with 27 home runs and 55 RBI.
The awards honor the top defender in MLB at each position, including one overall Defensive Player of the Year and the Defensive Team of the Year, respectively given to Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez and the Houston Astros.
Astros right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke, Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong, Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman, Los Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons, Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder David Peralta and Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain joined Judge and Perez.
