With 'Enter Sandman' playing, Yankees closer Mariano Rivera trotted in from the bullpen in the eighth inning at the 2013 All-Star Game at Citi Field.
The ballpark was filled with primarily Mets fans, but Rivera still got a rousing standing ovation from the fans. Both dugouts also saluted Rivera before he threw his first pitch.
During his scoreless inning of work, Rivera got Jean Segura to ground out to second, induced a line out to left field from Yadier Molina, and got Carlos Gomez to ground out to shortstop.
Rivera pitched in nine All-Star games during his career (1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2013), allowing a grand total of zero runs in 9.0 innings.
