Hard to argue... or face... a starting rotation like the one the Yankees are sporting heading into the 2020 regular season.
The Yankees landed Gerrit Cole via free agency this offseason to headline a rotation which already included the likes of Masahiro Tanaka, Luis Severino and James Paxton. That, plus a strong 2019 season despite a ton of injuries, make the Yankees the favorite for MLB's best record in 2020, according to oddsmakers.
Odds Shark released the over/ unders for each MLB team in 2020 on Monday and the Yankees sit atop the list at 101.5 wins, the only club above the century mark.
The Yankees also have a large gap between the second-best team in the American League as the Twins sit in that slot at 91.5. The second-closest MLB team to the Yankees in regard to over/ under resides in the National League, via the Dodgers at 98.5.
Other teams worth noting in the American League include the Red Sox, who sit at an over/ under of 88.5. That's the fifth-highest in the AL and the third-highest in the AL East. The Rays are sandwiched between the Yankees and Red Sox in terms of the division's over/ unders at 90.5.
But the wild card here for the AL is the league's 2019 World Series representative after their defeat of the Yankees in the ALCS, the Astros. They sit at a total of N/A due to the ongoing sign-stealing scandal.
