Oddsmakers are still betting on the Yankees to sign free agent Manny Machado

The 26-year-old slugger remains unsigned as pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training this week, but the Yankees are not completely out of the picture.

SNY's Andy Martino reported on Monday that while the Bombers are by no means the frontrunners, the front office continues to check in with the All-Star infielder's camp and lay in the weeds.

Later on Monday, oddsmakers at BetOnline posted the Yankees as 1-to-2 favorites to sign Machado. The San Diego Padres were second at 4-to-1 odds while the Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies were next at 5-to-1 odds.

Machado has met with all four teams but he is most likely to sign with the highest bidder and what the Yankees have discussed thus far is considered "low," according to Martino.

The Yankees currently have Miguel Andujar at third base and signed Troy Tulowitzki as their starting shortstop as Didi Gregorius recovers from Tommy John surgery. They also signed DJ LeMahieu to provide some more infield depth.

If the Yankees were to somehow land Machado, they would most likely try to move Andujar to first base but will not consider Machado at shortstop, per Martino.

BetOnline also had the San Francisco Giants as the favorites to land other prized free agent slugger, Bryce Harper, at 1-to-1 odds.

The Padres were second at 5-to-2, Phillies third at 4-to-1 followed by the Dodgers at 15-to-2 and Natioanls at 10-to-1.
