Help is on the way for the Yankees.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Saturday that catcher Gary Sanchez will play in a rehab game on Monday and if there are no issues, he will be activated from the injured list and return to the team on Wednesday during their West Coast trip.
Sanchez, who has been on the IL since April 12 with a strained left calf strain, has been taking batting practice, running and playing catch the last few days.
He caught a bullpen on Friday and appeared close to a return.
Sanchez has a team-high six home runs and was hitting a slash line of .368/.333/.742 before he was placed on the IL.
