The Yankees would hate to lose another player to the injury bug, but it looks like they may have dodged one in Gio Urshela.
Urshela left the game after the seventh inning following a foul ball off his left knee during an at-bat. He finished the at-bat, but he didn't return to the game.
The Yankees, though, announced the X-Rays came back negative, and Urshela was diagnosed with a left knee contusion.
Urshela has found his niche with the Yankees so far this season. Entering tonight's contest, he was slashing .360/.424/.547 swith two homers and nine RBI. And Urshela sparked the Yankees' comeback last night with a clutch two-run homer to deep center field.
With the contusion, it is likely Urshela won't be playing in the series finale with the Mariners tomorrow night. But the Yankees should be happy knowing Urshela, a pivotal player so far this season, shouldn't be out of the lineup for long.
