Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton shared a message on his Instagram account on Wednesday, asking people to continue to stay home in the fight against coronavirus.
Wearing his Yankees cap, Stanton expressed his appreciation for coworkers and the conditions they've been put in.
"I'm staying home for every family that's struggling or has lost a loved one, also for the medical staff who have been working around the clock in grueling conditions risking their health and well-being to save lives," Stanton said.
"And by staying home, we can set the perfect example for the rest of the country and the world during this fight."
The MLB season, like all the other major sports leagues, has been put on hold since mid-March, though the league is currently discussing options about how a possible shortened season could look.
