Yankees manager Aaron Boone said LHP J.A. Happ is "out of the woods" with hand, foot and mouth disease and will make his next scheduled start on Thursday against the Texas Rangers, according to Newsday's Erik Boland.
Happ, who has been on the disabled list since last week, has played catch and worked out over the past couple of days. He last pitched July 29, giving up one run in six innings.
The 35-year-old Happ, whom the Yankees acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays before the trade deadline, is 11-6 with a 4.05 ERA overall this season.
