While they pursue Blue Jays LHP J.A. Happ -- SNY's Andy Martino reports a deal could be imminent -- the Yankees are talking to the Twins about trading for RHP Ervin Santana, according to Jon Heyman of FanCred.
Along with Santana, the Yankees have touched base with the Twins on other starting pitchers, notes Heyman. Minnesota also has Jake Odorizzi and Lance Lynn, among others.
Santana, 35, recently made his 2018 debut after missing roughly six months due to finger surgery.
He had a 3.28 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 167 strikeouts in 211.1 innings in 2017.
Santana is earning $13.5 million this season, with a team option for 2019 at $14 million which has a $1 million buyout.
