Class A - South Atlantic League Southern Division - Charleston RiverDogs
Record: 16-17, 4th place, 5.0 GB
Charleston went 3-3 this past week and is hitting just .242 with a .662 OPS on the season. RiverDogs pitching has been fantastic as it leads the league in ERA (2.35) with 312 strikeouts in 283 innings.
No. 20 -- Glenn Otto (RHP) is currently on the seven-day disabled list. Otto had thrown 10 1/3 innings to the tune of a 3.48 ERA and 1.45 WHIP before being injured.
No. 21 -- Nolan Martinez (RHP) is currently on the seven-day disabled list and has yet to pitch this season.
Making Noise -- Chad Martin (RHP) has yet to allow a run this season in 14 innings of work. The reliever has 14 strikeouts against seven walks and just three hits.
Advanced A - Florida State League North Division - Tampa Tarpons
Record: 18-16, 2nd place, 4.5 GB
Tampa went 2-5 this week and is hitting .243 with a .671 OPS as a team this season. The Tarpons pitching staff has fared much better, generating a 3.01 ERA with 339 strikeouts in 299 1/3 innings.
No. 2 (No. 43) -- Estevan Florial (OF) went 8-for-29 over the last week and is hitting .310 in his last 10 games.
No. 5 (No. 72) -- Albert Abreu (RHP) made his second start of the season, tossing three innings of one-run ball. Abreu allowed five hits and three walks while striking out five.
No. 8 -- Freicer Perez (RHP) was knocked around in a 2 2/3-inning start in which he allowed six hits and walked three en route to three runs. Perez's ERA rose to 7.20 across 25 innings (six starts).
No. 15 -- Trevor Stephan (RHP) took the loss in his last start, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings. Stephan's ERA is still a shiny 1.85, while batters are hitting just .158 against him.
No. 19 -- Billy McKinney (OF) began a rehab assignment with Tampa on Thursday. He went 0-for-1 with two walks.
No. 27 -- Nick Nelson (RHP) was promoted and allowed three runs in three innings in his first start for the Tarpons. Nelson had pitched to a 3.65 ERA with Charleston in 24 2/3 innings.
No. 28 -- Trevor Lane (LHP) pushed his scoreless appearance string to six games with six strikeouts in four innings of work in two games. Lane lowered his ERA to 1.50 for the season.
Making Noise -- David Sosebee (RHP) has converted five save chances this season in six attempts. He owns a 1.23 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings.
Double-A - Eastern League Eastern Division - Trenton Thunder
Record: 20-12, 1st place, 1.0 GA
Trenton went 5-2 since the last report and is hitting just .216 on the season with a .638 OPS. Trenton's pitching staff is doing a fine job, posting a 2.58 ERA with 301 strikeouts in 278 2/3 innings.
No. 9 -- Domingo Acevedo (RHP) has made two starts on the young season, pitching to a 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP with seven strikeouts. He's walked six batters in just 10 1/3 innings, something that will obviously have to change. Acevedo was placed on the 7-day DL on April 13 due to a blister issue.
No. 11 -- Dillon Tate (RHP) bounced back from a terrible loss last week with a seven-inning two-run effort. Tate struck out three, walked one and allowed six hits in taking the hard-luck loss.
No. 14 -- Jonathan Loaisiga (RHP) turned in his second strong start for the Thunder since being promoted, hurling five innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts and zero walks.
Making Noise -- Erik Swanson (RHP) makes his second appearance here as he continues to dominate Double-A hitters. Swanson has allowed just two earned runs in 34 2/3 innings this season (0.52 ERA) with 44 strikeouts. Batters are hitting just .155 off Swanson.
Triple-A - International League North Division - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders
Record: 15-17, 6th place, 3.0 GB
The RailRiders went 2-4 since the last report, skidding all the way to last place in a tightly-packed division. The RailRiders are hitting a collective .255 with .697 OPS this season. Scranton pitching has posted a 3.75 ERA with 262 strikeouts in 271 innings.
No. 3 (No. 46) -- Justus Sheffield (LHP) made his Triple-A debut on Sunday and was wildly effective. Sheffield walked four batters, struck out six and allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings. Sheffield had posted a 2.25 ERA in 28 innings with Trenton.
No. 6 (No. 74) -- Chance Adams (RHP) has yet to demonstrate he's the same pitcher he was in 2017. Across 33 1/3 innings this season, Adams owns a 5.67 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. Adams posted a 2.89 ERA in 115 1/3 innings with Scranton in 2017.
No. 10 -- Thairo Estrada (2B/SS) was placed on the seven-day disabled list this week with an undisclosed injury. In 33 at-bats with Scranton, Estrada was hitting just .152.
No. 17 -- Cody Carroll (RHP) scoreless innings of relief in two appearances this week. Carroll struck out eight batters in the process, raising his season total to 24 in 14 2/3 innings.
No. 22 -- Giovanny Gallegos (RHP) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, but has not made an appearance since April 8.
No. 29 -- Ben Heller (RHP) is on the 60-day disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery earlier this month.
Making Noise -- Raynel Espinal (RHP) has strung together six straight scoreless appearances, lowering his ERA to 2.30 on the season. Espinal has 20 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings.
