It may have been a great catch, but Clint Frazier's leap and fall at the wall on Saturday gave the Yankees' outfielder a concussion, per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
Manager Aaron Boone said that though the concussion will see Frazier riding the bench for a few days, he is "pretty optimistic" he will be back in the lineup soon.
Frazier is battling to be on the 25-man roster this Spring Training, as there is an overhaul of outfielders in the running. Among centerfielders, Aaron Hicks and Jacoby Ellsbury look to be ahead of him on the depth chart. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge are also expected to see time in right for when Brett Gardner needs a break.
So, it is safe to say each rep counts for Frazier, who was the first-round draft pick by the Indians back in 2013. In the big leagues last season, he hit .231 with four homers and 17 RBI.
