The Yankees optioned INF Gleyber Torres and C Kyle Higashioka to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.
The moves were made following the Yankees' game against the Detroit Tigers Tuesday afternoon.
Higashioka hit had five hits in 15 at-bats for the Yankees during spring training. He played in nine games for the big-league squad during the regular season last year, when he failed to pick up a hit in 18 at-bats.
Torres hit .160 during spring training this year, tallying four hits and three runs in 25 at-bats. In 55 games last season between Double-A Trentin and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season, Torres hit .287/.383/.480 along with seven homers and 34 RBIs.
