Yankees C Gary Sanchez homered and played seven innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a rehab game on Sunday.
Sanchez finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and two strikeouts.
Sanchez has been sidelined with a groin injury since June 24.
On Thursday, Boone went as far as to say that Sanchez could return after the All-Star break when the Yankees take on the Mets.
"I think there's at least a real chance that Sanchez is playing for us against the Mets next weekend," Boone said on WFAN. "We're not there yet, but we feel like we're getting close with him. I feel like it's a real possibility."
Sanchez is hitting .190/.291/.433 with 14 HR and 41 RBI this season for the Yankees.
