The Yankees have a lot of big-name pieces in their bullpen, from Aroldis Chapman to Zack Britton and Adam Ottavino.
But during the month of July, no Yankees reliever was better than Tommy Kahnle, who's become the Yankees go-to seventh inning man on the mound.
For his efforts, Kahnle was named AL Reliever of the Month on Saturday.
Kahnle was simply tremendous during July, pitching to a 0.77 ERA with a 0.60 WHIP, striking out 17 batters over 11.2 innings. During the month, he allowed just one earned run in 12 games, dropping his ERA from 3.38 on June 30 to where it currently sits at 2.62.
In his second full season with the Yankees, Kahnle has pitched to a 2.62 ERA with a 2-0 record. He's struck out 65 batters over 44.2 innings.
