The Yankees added a familiar face to their pitching reserves by acquiring RHP Tyler Jones from the Diamondbacks. The team announced the move on Friday evening, adding that Jones was acquired via a Rule 5 Draft return.
Jones was picked up by Arizona in early December after New York waived him. Upon his return to the Yankees, Jones will be playing for the team's Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
In 2016, Jones put up a 2.17 ERA across 33 appearances while playing for the club's Double-A afflitiate in Trenton.
Since being drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2011, the LSU product has yet to play in a MLB game.
