The Yankees will reportedly name former Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen coach Josh Bard as their bench coach under manager Aaron Boone, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
Bard, a former MLB catcher, had been a member of the Dodgers coaching staff for the past two seasons. He played with Boone in 2005 when the two of them were on the Cleveland Indians.
Bard, 39, hit .254 with 39 home runs and 220 RBIs in 586 career games in his 10-year MLB career with five teams. After retiring in 2011, he spent time as a scout and as a member of the Dodgers' front office, according to Rosenthal.
While Boone has not yet filled out the rest of his coaching staff, it is known that Larry Rothschild will return as the team's pitching coach.
