For Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, the "rough patch" the team has hit is directly related to the struggles of the starting rotation. Clay Holmes lamented his performance on Thursday, walking five batters and throwing over a 100 pitches without finishing the fifth inning. It was a difficult night for the offense as well, scoring just a single run but Brandon Nimmo tipped his hat to Atlanta starter Spencer Strider and feels the team breaking out is "right around the corner."

The Mets lost their sixth game in a row 7-1 and were swept for the second consecutive series. Mets pitching surrendered nine walks and seven earned runs while Braves starter Scott Strider struck out eight batters, allowing just one run over six innings. Ronny Mauricio drove in the only run for New York with an RBI single.
