The Knicks have lost seven of their last nine games, including Sunday’s 145-135 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, prompting a players-only dinner on Monday night in Utah.

RJ Barrett told reporters on Tuesday that the team stressed accountability to one another.

“Just trying to hold each other accountable,” Barrett said at Tuesday’s shootaround, via Zach Braziller of the New York Post. “Trying to get this going because we want to win.”

Barrett told reporters that Monday’s dinner was organized by Julius Randle.

“It was good, good to have a team dinner like that,” said Barrett. “Try to figure this out the best that we can. We all care, trying to get this going on the right track.”

The Knicks are about to begin a five-game road trip, starting against the Jazz on Tuesday night and followed by matchups with Denver, Golden State, Phoenix, and Oklahoma City.

With the team’s record at 6-7 and currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks find themselves at a critical juncture early in the season.

SNY Insider Ian Begley reported on Monday that “the temperature of [Tom] Thibodeau’s seat was raised a little bit” with Sunday’s loss to the Thunder, a game in which the Knicks allowed 145 points, the most of any game in the Thibodeau era.
