The Knicks earned a big win on Tuesday, beating the Indiana Pacers, 104-94.

Here are the takeaways...

Keifer Sykes knocked down his first four shots from downtown in just his fourth career game, and Julius Randle turned the ball over twice in the first two minutes in his return from health and safety protocols. But RJ Barrett came to the rescue - he scored the Knicks’ first seven points, and 17 of their first 24 as the catalyst of a 16-0 run by the Knicks. Barrett finished with 19 in the opening frame, his most in any quarter in his career, as the Knicks led 32-25.

- The Knicks got their lead up to 12 points in the second quarter, but the Pacers got going on a 25-13 run to end the half while New York hit just two of their nine shots from three-point range. Barrett had 24 points at the half.

- Things stayed tight in the third, as teams exchanged bucked to make it a 70-70 ballgame. The Knicks attacked the paint much more frequently, taking only four three-pointers in the entire quarter. And it worked – the Knicks led 84-77 through three, closing the quarter on a 14-7 run. Randle cooked in the third, too, knocking five of seven from the floor for 14 points.

- The Pacers fought back, making it a one-point game with less than nine minutes to go. Both teams went cold, as only seven points were scored in a four-plus minute stretch, but the Knicks were able to go on a slow but effective 13-3 run to stretch their lead to 11 with just over two minutes to go, and never looked back.

- It was a brutal night from three (6-for-28, 21.4 percent), but the Knicks scored 54 of their points in the paint, despite the NBA's leading shot blocker in Myles Turner being on the floor. The Knicks shot 59.6 percent (31-for-52) inside the perimeter.

- Randle had one of his best games of the season, finishing with 30 points and tied a season high with 16 rebounds. It was Randle's third 30-point double-double of the season, and he was lights out from midrange, knocking 10 of his 13 shots from inside the three-point line.

Barrett finished with 32 points and eight boards.

- Evan Fournier did not record a point as he missed all seven shots from the floor. He was subbed out with 4:30 to go in the third quarter and didn’t see the floor again.
