Mets' Peter Alonso hits two homers after being named 51s MVP

Alonso has 35 HR this season in the minors

Peter Alonso has enjoyed an incredible season between two minor league levels this season and has been acknowledged for his efforts.

Prior to their game on Friday night, the Las Vegas 51s presented Alonso with the MVP award. Since being called up by the 51s, Alonso has hit .257/.355/.580 with 20 HR and 65 RBI, including two homers the night he received his award.

Alonso tore up Double-A during the first half of the season, hitting .314/.440/.573 with 15 HR and 52 RBI before earning the call-up to Las Vegas.

Alonso was not involved in the Mets' September callups.
