Mets acting general manager Zack Scott will no longer be part of the organization, league sources told SNY.
Scott was arrested Aug. 31 on suspicion of DWI and placed on administrative leave shortly thereafter. With the World Series near a close and the offseason set to begin, the team had been discussing his status in earnest in recent days.
The details surrounding Scott’s status remain partially unclear, but he will no longer a member of the team’s the front office.
Mets president Sandy Alderson declined comment.
Scott declined comment.
The Mets will continue their search for a new head of baseball operations. Alderson recently initiated a round of interviews with outside executives, and will conduct some this week. Among the possibilities is Boston Red Sox executive Raquel Ferreira, Daniel Adler from the Minnesota Twins, and other highly-regarded, mostly assistant GM-level candidates.
Many of the permission requests remain in process. The Mets have received permission to speak to Ferreira, according to league sources.
