After a four-point win over the Atlanta Hawks in Wednesday's back-and-forth affair at Barclays Center, the Nets returned to Brooklyn for a rematch Friday but fell 114-96.  >> Box score

Five things to know from Friday's game

1. The Nets stuck with a starting five of point guard Kyrie Irving, shooting guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, small forward Joe Harris, power forward Kevin Durant and center DeAndre Jordan -- the same lineup from two days ago, a 145-141 victory.

2. An off day from behind the arc hindered the offensive-driven Nets, who posted a 7-of-37 (18.9%) mark on three-pointers. Irving, who went 2-for-10 from deep, highlighted Brooklyn's issues.

3. Irving was the hero with a 17-point fourth quarter Wednesday, but struggled Friday, dropping 18 points on 6-of-21 shooting.

4. Durant led the Nets with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-21 shooting, including 2 for 7 on three-pointers.

5. The Nets never led, tying just once with a Harris alley-oop layup from Durant at the first quarter's 10:29 mark to knot up a 2-2 score. Brooklyn cut the deficit back down to a bucket at the second quarter's 10:35 point on Jeff Green's 10-foot fadeaway, but a pair of triples by Bogdan Bogdonovic and Solomon Hill put the Hawks up eight. Atlanta produced six double-digit scorers, led by De'Andre Hunter's 23 points and Trae Young's 21.
