The Rangers are signing Juuso Parsinen to a two-year contract extension.
The deal is expected to carry an AAV of $1.25 million, according to numerous reports.
Parsinen, acquired from the Avalanche at the deadline in the Ryan Lindgren deal, was a pending RFA.
The youngster bounced in and out of the Rangers' lineup over the final 23 games of the season, being healthy scratched a total of 12 times down the stretch, but he finished the year with a career-high six goals and 10 assists.
"I want to play more fur sure," Parsinen said during breakup day. "But if you take that away, I think my experience was really good, I think the organization is really good -- we're taken care of. It's a great practice facility and the city is unbelievable."
Parsinen plans on focusing on his skating and getting more explosive heading into next season.
The 24-year-old still possess some upside moving forward, and he'll look to tap into that early on next year to help him earn a regular spot in new head coach Mike Sullivan's lineup.
