UConn guard KK Arnold was named the Big East Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday, giving Arnold back-to-back honors for the award.

Arnold, 18, averaged 7.5 points on 46.2 percent shooting and added three rebounds in two games for the Huskies last week. She made her first career start against No. 2 UCLA on Friday, Nov. 24 and scored 11 points to go along with two rebounds and an assist in 27 minutes of a 78-67 loss.

The next day, the Wisconsin native had four points, four rebounds and two assists off the bench in a 71-63 win over Kansas. Her 32 minutes played in the contest were only behind starters Nika Muhl and Aubrey Griffin.

Arnold averaged nine points, three assists and 2.5 rebounds over two games when she won the award a week ago for the first time. Since Azzi Fudd’s season-ending knee injury, the freshman has seen her playing time increase and has been making the most of her opportunity.

Her next chance to make an impact will be on Sunday, Dec. 3 against No. 7 Texas.
