It sounds like the Yankees are zeroing in on their next hitting coach.
The Yankees are considering hiring Detroit Tigers assistant hitting coach James Rowson as the club's new hitting coach, a source confirmed to SNY's Andy Martino.
A 47-year-old from Mount Vernon, N.Y., Rowson held two separate stints as the Yankees minor league hitting coordinator from 2008-11 and then again from 2014-16, working with players like Aaron Judge, among many others.
Rowson has also been a big league coach with the Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins, and Detroit Tigers.
The Yankees are in search of a new hitting coach after Sean Casey announced that he would not be returning to the club. Casey was hired in July after the Bombers moved on from Dillon Lawson.
