Giants GM Dave Gettleman opened his presser at the NFL Combine by attempting to shut down the Odell Beckham Jr. trade rumors.

"We didn't sign Odell to trade him," Gettleman said unprompted. "That's all I need to say about that."

Still -- as he has done before -- Gettleman did not come out and say that Beckham would be on the Giants when the season begins. So despite his best efforts, the rumors will continue.

Those rumors started anew earlier this month when NFL analyst Jay Glazer made a "bold prediction" that the Giants would trade Beckham this offseason. Glazer's comments were written as part of a mailbag Q&A with fans, and he refused to back down from them on Feb. 22:

"Oh, and no, I'm not walking my bold prediction back, not one $%#-ing inch! Does it happen? A lot has to materialize for it to take place but out of principle I'm not walking a damn thing back."

There was also the curious claim from Chris Simms, who used some very strange logic while saying the Giants nearly traded Beckham to the Patriots last offseason.

Beckham was the subject of trade rumors last offseason, before agreeing to an enormous extension that has him under Giants control through the 2023 season.

And while Beckham is one of the best receivers in football, his contract could be an impediment to trading him, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano recently explained

Regardless, whether the Giants are open to trading Beckham or not, nothing Gettleman said on Wednesday will stop anyone from wondering.
