Joe Judge is among the candidates to become the next head coach of the Giants. Here's the latest...

Jan. 7, 11:15 AM:

The Giants have found their next head coach, as SNY's Ralph Vacchiano confirmed that Judge will fill the position. Judge interviewed with Giants brass on Monday, and ESPN's Adam Schefter -- who initially broke the news -- said a deal was being worked on that night.

This would explain why Matt Rhule, another top candidate that was supposed to interview for the job on Tuesday, took the Panthers' head coach vacancy.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport learned Judge informed Patriots head coach Bill Belichick that he's going to take the job, so it's only a matter of time before the Giants make it official.

Jan. 6, 5:15 PM:

The Giants made Judge's interview for the head coaching vacancy official on Monday, naming him the fifth candidate to interview for the job. Matt Rhule is reportedly following Judge on Tuesday to interview for the position followed by a colleague of Judge's in Josh McDaniels on Wednesday.

Jan. 5, 7:10 PM:

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Judge will interview with the Giants on Monday.

The Patriots season ended on Saturday night after their 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans, allowing for Judge to interview sooner than expected.

Jan. 3, 7:40 PM:

Currently the New England Patriots' special teams coordinator/wide receivers coach, Judge has been linked to the Giants throughout their search to replace Pat Shurmur, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting on December 31 that the Giants had requested permission to interview the 37-year-old.

But with Joe Moorhead out as head coach at Mississippi State, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic sees Judge as a potential fit with the Bulldogs. Judge, a Philadelphia native, attended Mississippi State and later served as a grad assistant with the program. Feldman reports that Judge has always "REALLY" wanted the Bulldogs' job.
