After the Jets trimmed down their 53-man roster over the weekend, they came one step closer to cementing the practice squad at the start of the week.

The team announced Monday that it signed wide receiver Greg Dortch to the practice squad.

The former Wake Forest speedster followed running back Josh Adams and tight end Ian Bunting as Gang Green's latest additions.

Others on the practice squad include offensive linemen Calvin Anderson and Ben Braden, cornerback Kyron Brown, linebacker Jamey Mosley, wide receiver Jeff Smith and running back Valentine Holmes.

Dortch's arrival on the practice squad comes after the Jets cut him Sunday after the team claimed second-year slot receiver and kick returner Braxton Berrios from the New England Patriots to the 53-man roster.

The 5-foot-7, 173-pound Dortch is cut from the same cloth as the 5-foot-9, 190-pound Berrios.

Signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May, Dortch flashed through the team's four preseason games.

He started off strong Aug. 8 in the 31-22 loss to the Giants, recording four receptions for 20 yards -- including a two-yard touchdown from quarterback Luke Falk, who also ended up on the practice squad.

Dortch's preseason totaled eight receptions for 49 yards but included two fumbles.

Prior to the Jets, Dortch spent two years at Wake Forest, starring for the Demon Deacons over the course of the 2017-18 seasons with 17 touchdowns and 1,800 yards on 142 receptions.
