Todd Frazier made some news off the field Wednesday when he decided to post to his social media how he eats his pancakes.

Stopping at "The Griddle Cafe" in Hollywood during the Mets' series against the Dodgers, Frazier took a before and after picture of him devouring his chocolate chip pancakes. But the method he used was to carve out the center.

"What human being does that to a pancake?" the world was asking when they saw the carnage. Well, this isn't something Frazier always does, but he explained why he had to.

"No, it's not a method," he told MLB Network Radio. "With the place I was at, the bottom line is the pancakes were over the plate. So here's the deal: You want to cut your pancakes on the edge and have your pancake hit the dirty table? No, you got to have some integrity. You got to put the syrup in the middle in the beginning and you start from there.

"So I don't eat those like that. That's just -- of course, somebody had to blow it up online and I was flabbergasted. But at the end of the day, you got to eat how you want to eat."

After hearing his explanation, it does make some sense. Who wants their food to touch the table?

But you're going to go back to cutting your pancakes like a normal person, right Todd?

"Maybe I'll start a new trend here," he said. "I don't know."
