- Quinn said that if he was "better at geography" he would have visited Mats Zuccarello but he didn't realize that Norway was just a "hop away." (NY Post)
Quinn said that he has spoken with about 10 players so far and that the focus has been on getting to know each other, building a relationship and "getting onto the same page as far as clarifying our expectations of one another and as a team." (NY Post)
He said that he wants the players to believe that they can contend for the Stanley Cup and that if they work at that and buy in "people might be surprised at what we can accomplish collectively." (NY Post)
Quinn said that the Rangers will not "settle for less" and that they will go into the season wanting to "win hockey games." (NY Post)
In speaking with Larry Brooks of the NY Post, Quinn added, "we need guys who are committed to working each day to be at their best. If a guy didn't have his best year last year, we need him to be better this year. That's the way we're going to get back to being successful." (NY Post)
Quinn has spoken previously about how the Rangers need to come to work with the mentality of trying to get better every day.
Earlier in the offseason, Quinn said "if everyone can get 5-10% better you are going to have a big improvement and a much better hockey team. I don't want to go Bill Belichick on you, but if you get dialed in and focused on the moment, get better on a daily basis and create an environment where people want to come to the rink, I think you have a chance."
