Leading the way was starter Griffin Canning who dominated the vaunted Dodger lineup, striking out seven hitters over six shutout innings and allowing just three hits. Offensively, Pete Alonso continued to deliver with men in scoring position, crushing two home runs and driving in five of the six Mets runs. Alonso though, was already looking ahead to the series finale saying "glad to get this one but we have another big one tomorrow."
