It's a question that would've seemed insane two months ago, but is now legitimate. Who returns to the Mets first: David Wright or Yoenis Cespedes?
Wright has not played in a game since 2016 due to chronic spinal stenosis and other issues, and his potential comeback was viewed as a longshot before the season began. But he resumed his rehab at the end of May and has advanced to full-bore baseball activity, taking batting practice and grounders multiple times last week. See?

Meanwhile, Cespedes has been out since the middle of May, is dealing with a chronic hip issue, and will not be cleared to do anything but physical therapy until he is symptom-free.
Also on the Cespedes front, he was supposed to join his teammates in Miami this past weekend to continue rehabbing, but those plans changed. And the reason given by Mickey Callaway didn't really make sense.
So, with Cespedes in a perpetual state of nothingness and Wright making actual progress toward a return, who will make it back to the Mets first?
